What is it

Comprehensive on-brand internal and external wayfinding and entrance signage for Oldham’s new recycling depot at Alexandra Park.

Project Scope

Oldham Council moved its recycling operations to a new site at Alexandra Park.

We were brought in to design, manufacture and install a full suite of signage and wayfinding, using the council’s brand guidelines. Our objective was to bring clarity and consistency, with a high quality signage solution across this public-facing site.

The Specifics

This is a site with multiple public uses and also Council employee spaces, too, so as well as there being a strong need for visual clarity, the site needed clear wayfinding, too.

From site survey to installation, we handled every detail.

We kicked things off with a full site survey, to understand the different uses and key routes, and how to safely segregate pedestrians and vehicles.

Then, with a clear plan for what signs were needed and where, we drew up a series of internal and external sign designs that aligned with the Council’s established brand guidelines.

We then manufactured and shipped to site, ready for our on-site team to get to work on the installation.

The Solution

The final scheme included:

  • 6 areas of branded window graphics
  • 17 internal wayfinding signs
  • 8 external signs, including building’s entrance signage and directional signage

Externally, we used aluminium panels with print and a protective laminate face, fixed either to posts or directly to the building fabric.

Internally, we opted for powder-coated aluminium signs with precision vinyl detailing and hidden fixings to keep things slick.

The Benefits

The result is a professional, intuitive environment that helps users navigate the site with ease—whether they’re recycling, accessing business services or just finding the right entrance.

It makes a strong first impression from hundreds of yards away and stands up to scrutiny up close.

The new signage doesn’t just adhere to Oldham Council’s branding standards – it reinforces them.
